Dancer and cheerleader turned actress Jill Marie Jones is known for her role in television dramas Girlfriends and Sleepy Hollow.
After graduating college, Jones performed as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for two years, before joining the Dallas Mavericks. She also performed for troops as part of the United Service Organisation, later deciding to make the move to pursue a career in acting. She landed her first role in 2000, in the series City Guys, before being cast in her breakout role in UPN comedy Girlfriends. She was one of the main characters in the show, staying with the programme for the first six seasons and being nominated for both a BET Comedy Award and a NAACP Image Award for her performance. Jones then made the transition into films, being cast in several over the next few years including The Perfect Holiday, The Longshots and Meeting Spencer. She continued to be cast in television shows too, and built on her reputation as a versatile and talented actress with the lead role in Gillian in Georgia. She quickly followed up with parts in American Horror Story: Asylum and Sleepy Hollow, with 2015 seeing her cast in Ash vs Evil Dead which she starred in for two years.
Recently Jones has starred in and been the executive producer of web series Monogamy, as well as starring in 2020 film Charming the Hearts of Men. She remains a first call for both television and films roles, and is now well recognised as a skillful and experienced actress.
