Joe Alonzo is a professional wrestler who has been competing successfully on the independent wrestling circuit in America for over five years. During that time, he has fought for a great many promotions, including All Elite Wrestling (AEW), International Wrestling Cartel, Lucha Libre Total Chicago, Renegade Wrestling Alliance, and many more, notching up over 80 bouts and counting. He sometimes goes by the nickname “The Chosen One” and is slowly building a several-thousand-strong following across various social media platforms.
Alonzo was born in the village of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and it’s around the Chicago and Illinois area that he has done the vast majority of wrestling. He made his pro debut in November 2016 at the Blitz Arena in the city of Joliet for the Pro Wrestling Blitz. Teaming up with Humec, he competed for the PWB Tag Team title but was ultimately unsuccessful. He returned the following month to participate in a Battle Royal match and contest the King of Blitz title.
During 2018, Alonzo’s career began to gain traction with 36 bouts for eight different promotions. Similar followed in 2019 and was on the cards for 2020 until the pandemic brought pretty much everything to a halt. He did, however, get to make his first appearances for AEW wrestling that year, competing at their AEW Dark events between March and June. He also made headlines when he called out “social justice warriors” who had falsely accused him on Twitter of making prank calls to people. Hopefully, with the pandemic moving into the rearview mirror, Alonzo can look forward to regaining his wrestling momentum.
