Best known for starring as Joey Russo in Blossom and Freeform’s Melissa & Joey series, Joey Lawrence is one of America’s most recognisable faces. The actor is also an accomplished musician and game show host with a huge profile across his home nation and beyond.
He rose to fame in the early ‘80s, starring in the Brotherly Lover series with his real brothers Matthew and Andrew. His first acting job came with a Cracker Jack commercial before he appeared on the Tonight Show With Johnny Carson at five years old, performing the song ‘Give My Regards to Broadway.’
Lawrence went on to land guest spots on Diff’rent Strokes and Silver Spoons, before appearing on the NBC show Gimme A Break! Lawrence has always been a passionate musician, forging a successful career as a solo artist: his debut album was released when he was just 16. The self-titled record featured material written by Lawrence himself, including the international hit single ‘Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix’ which shot to No 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No 13 in the UK Charts. Later singles like ‘Rolled’ continued to keep his name in the charts before Lawrence went on to form a band called Still 3. Aside from this, starred in the ABC reality show Splash and Dancing with the Stars, proving that he can more than hold his own across television, cinema and music.
