John D. Hofmeister

John D. Hofmeister, an esteemed energy expert and author, has dedicated his career to advocating for sound and secure energy solutions globally. With a rich background in the industry, including positions as Vice President at AlliedSignal and General Manager at General Electric, Hofmeister reached the pinnacle of his career as the US CEO and President of Shell Oil.

Since stepping down from his leadership role at Shell in 2008, Hofmeister has become a leading authority on fossil fuels, the energy industry, and renewable solutions. His insights and expertise are deeply rooted in his experience working on both sides of the energy equation, engaging with large consumers and producers. In 2010, he authored the critically acclaimed book, “Why We Hate Oil Companies: Straight Talking from an Industry Insider,” providing a comprehensive analysis of the economic and environmental challenges surrounding the oil and gas industry. A graduate of Kansas State University with BA and MA Degrees in Political Science, Hofmeister continues to contribute significantly to the energy landscape.
