Best known for his roles in Doc Martin and In The Club, John Marquez is an English actor who has starred in numerous television dramas.
Marquez’s older brother is also an actor, and was the first person to encourage him to take to the stage as a child. The pair formed a comedy double act, the Brothers Marquez before he went on to land roles in major television dramas, starting with The Bill and Eastenders in the early noughties. Marquez then had small roles in Black Books, Holby City and feature length drama The Trial of Tony Blair and in 2007 landed his most prominent role as PC Joseph Pendale in Doc Martin. The actor has played the role ever since, becoming a widely recognised face in British television and a favourite among viewers. Alongside his thirteen years with the programme, Marquez has also starred in Death in Paradise, In The Club and Porridge. He has gained a reputation as a versatile actor, who can skilfully take on numerous different roles with ease and his trademark humour.
Most recently, Marquez has continued to star in Doc Martin, as well as appearing in another television series, Britannia. He starred in four episodes of the historical fantasy show, which aired on Sky and has been renewed for a third season. This experienced and talented actor continues to be at the heart of British television, and remains a favourite with fans.
