Rising young rapper Jordan Air Young rose to prominence as a break-out star of American reality television series The Rap Game in 2017. Young competed with the likes of Rap-Unzel, Street Bud, Ricci Bitti and Lil Bri on the fourth season of the popular show, and after becoming a fan favourite went on to release a string of notable singles including ‘XJA’, ‘Black Sheep’, ‘Lonely Nights’, ’Maybe I need More’,‘4 Too Long’ and ‘Worthy Name’. In 2021 he dropped his highly anticipated EP 4 UR Late Nites.
Young was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a heart condition called WPW, which causes a rapid heartbeat. This didn’t hold Young back, who excelled in both music and as a basketball player. Before being thrust into the limelight on The Rap Game, Young honed his musical talent learning piano.
In 2017 the rising rapper took a chance and auditioned to take part on Lifetime’s reality competition The Rap Game, which showcases up-and-coming hip-hop artists and is coproduced by the legendary Queen Latifah. One of the most lyrical artists to grace any season of the show, he won the hearts and respect of viewers with his incredible flow and earned a whole new army of fans Young’s social media following soared to over 120k followers on Instagram and thousands more on Twitter. Now relocated to Los Angeles, this up-and-coming rapper remains one to watch.
