Ferocious fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is an international cricketer for Australia. He has been compared to renowned Australian paceman Glenn McGrath for his accuracy. Cricket Australia awarded Hazlewood a national contract for the 2018–19 season in April 2018. He was picked in Australia’s team for the Ashes series in England in July 2019. Hazlewood appeared in four of the series’ five games, claiming 20 wickets at a strike rate of 21.85.
Hazlewood was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction in February 2020. On July 16, 2020, Hazlewood was named to a 26-player preliminary squad to begin training ahead of a prospective COVID-19 pandemic visit to England. Cricket Australia stated the fixtures would take place on August 14, 2020, with Hazelwood included in the travelling group. In the opening Test of the Border–Gavaskar Trophy series 2020-21, he took his 200th Test wicket against India.
Hazlewood was picked for Australia’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in August 2021. He became the first bowler to be placed among the top ten in the ICC rankings in all three formats (Test, ODI, and T20) after the T20 World Cup in 2021, and was selected for the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year. Hazlewood was named to Australia’s squad for the 2021-22 Ashes series, but he only appeared in the first test match, taking three wickets and two catches in Brisbane. He was purchased by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 Indian Premier League Mega auction.
