The inspirational Josh Robbins is a well-known HIV/AIDS activist in the United States, as well as a blogger, talent agent, writer, and social media marketer. Robbins identifies as gay and is transparent about the fact that he is HIV-positive. He advocates for HIV education through the use of digital and social media in an effort to minimize stigma and discrimination against individuals with HIV/AIDS. His work has been featured on a variety of websites and magazines, including The Advocate, Human Rights Campaign, Healthline, and POZ, amongst others.
Robbins was actively working to educate members of the LGBT community about HIV and to raise funds for the AIDS service organization Nashville CARES prior to being diagnosed with the virus himself. He revealed his HIV status on Facebook in January 2012, and uploaded a video on YouTube depicting the moment he was notified he had HIV. Healthline included one of his videos on their list of the “Best HIV Videos of 2013.” Robbins received recognition on the POZ 100 List in the same year. He launched the digital video series “HIV Video Minute with Josh Robbins” in 2014, and licensed it to HIV+ magazine.
In 2018, Robbins became the national spokesman for DatingPositives.com. He was recognized for his excellence in blogging by the National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association in the same year and awarded their “Excellence in Journalism” award. Robbins is also a seasoned talent agent and the owner and operator of BNA Talent Group. His former students have gone on to have successful acting careers in television and studio films. Robbins collaborates with businesses that are looking to cast LGBT-oriented models and performers in their commercials.
