Joshua Malina is an American film and stage actor, who has played some phenomenal roles such as Will Bailey on the NBC drama The West Wing, President Siebert on The Big Bang Theory and David Rosen on Scandal. Malina began his acting debut in the Broadway production of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men, and later moved into a major role in the production. This was the beginning of a lifelong friendship for Malina and Sorkin, who would go on to work on many projects together – which Malina jokes is due to the fact he once performed the Heimlich maneuver on Sorkin, saving his life.
Malina’s most famous role however, is on West Wing, where he was so beloved as to go on to create a podcast The West Wing Weekly up until January of 2020. Malina is also a co-creator and producer of Bravo’s cable TV series Celebrity Poker Showdown, due to the actor being an avid poker player in real life – and even, if his early career, using poker winnings to pay his rent early on in his career – with the idea for the show coming from a weekly high-stakes poker game hosted by Hank Azaria. Malina is also a huge fan of practical jokes and comedy, using his twitter network of over 301 thousand followers to express his political and personal opinions all through a lens of good humour.
