The magnificent sportsman Julian Alaphilippe is a professional road cyclist, and former cyclo-cross racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Soudal-Quick-Step. He is a 2x World Champion, and winner of six individual stages at the Tour de France between 2018 and 2021. He has been named France’s best sportsman twice.
Born and raised in France, Alaphilippe started his racing career competing in cyclo-cross, coming in as runner-up in the 2010 Junior World Championships. He then began his road racing career in 2012 and joined the Amateur team Armée de Terre. He turned professional after an impressive season, and joined Etixx-IHNed for a year before teaming up with Omega Pharma-Quick-Step (now Soudal-Quick-Step) in 2014. He has gone on to competed in major events and tours, including the Tour de France, the Vuelta a España, as well as the Vélo d’Or.
Alaphilippe has also represented his native France on the international stage in Elite road racing, taking Silver at the 2016 European Championships, and Gold at the 2020 World Championships in Imola. He successfully defended his title the following year, taking Gold again at Flanders.
