British modern pentathlete Kate French has been competing professionally since 2006 and participated in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
Alongside her degree in sports performance from the University of Bath, French also trains at the university’s Pentathlon GB High-Performance Centre. After discovering her passion for modern pentathlon through The Pony Club, competing in tetrathlons and her school’s Biathlon, French made her international Pentathlon debut at the 2006 Under 17 European Championships, during which she finished in an impressive 18th place. Since then, French has gone on to perform consistently throughout her sporting career, winning gold medals in the women’s relay at the Under 19 World Championships, the 2010 Junior World Championships and again at the 2012 Junior European Championships. Competing at European and World Championships, French went on to enjoy a particularly successful year during 2017 when she achieved her best ever individual results finishing in a remarkable 7th & 6th position. Of her individual medal wins, French successfully won a bronze medal at the 2012 World Cup in Rostov, followed by a Gold during 2015 in Sarasota and two silver medals at the European Championships in 2018 and 2019,
Of her biggest achievements, French enjoyed competing as part of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, at which she finished in an impressive 6th position. Hoping to continue her success, in 2019 French qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
