Kierston Wareing is a familiar face well-known to English audiences, appearing in several hugely successful movies and series throughout her career. Some of her more notable roles include Kirsty Branning in the BBC soap opera, EastEnders, villainess Ashley Davidson in Hollyoaks, and Gina in Inside Men.
She also played the lead in her first film, ‘It’s a Free World…’ portraying Angie, a good-natured character attempting to start a business helping immigrants find jobs. Wareing was a supporting character in the 2009 movie Fish Tank, a critically acclaimed picture which took home the BAFTA Best British Film Award and the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize that same year. Wareing has nominations from BAFTA and the British Independent Film Awards for her solo performances.
Wareing started acting lessons at the age of seven, eventually moving on to enrol in Focus drama school and Place Theatre workshops. Shortly after completing a three-year program at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in NY at age 21, she joined the cast of EastEnders. In 2018, Wareing played Leda Strike in the TV adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novel, Career of Evil, penned under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Another of her most recent projects, Cardboard Gangsters, in which she played Kim Murphy, was nominated for Best Film at the IFTA awards.
The actress has also contributed voice work to popular video game titles, Bloodborne and World of Warcraft. 2019 will see the actress perform in upcoming productions Avengement and Morning Sunshine.
