Kim Katrin co-founded The People Project, an organization dedicated to local and international community development for queer and trans people of color and their allies through alternative education, art-activism, and collaboration. She is also a co-owner of Glad Day Book Shop, recognized globally as the oldest LGBT bookstore. Earlier in her career, she completed an artist residency under d’bi Young at the AnitAfrika Theatre and was a student in the Buddies in Bad Times Young Creator’s Unit, honing her multidisciplinary artistic foundation. Leveraging her background as an educator, writer, and artist, Kim Katrin has traveled internationally since 2012, delivering hundreds of unique resources and presentations on intersectional issues such as race, ability, and gender.
Her commitment to advocacy was further recognized in 2012 when she was a finalist for LGBT Person Of The Year at the Inspire Awards. She facilitates crucial community dialogues and provides practical strategies on sexuality and consent, queer and trans allyship, and anti-racism and equity, addressing opportunities and challenges for women in business and leadership roles.
