Kolby Cooper was born on May 31, 1999, in Bradford, Texas. His musical development was influenced by both outlaw country and grunge, leading him to learn guitar and begin songwriting. Initially considering a career in football, he shifted his focus to music during high school. By the time he completed high school, Cooper was married and dedicated to a full-time songwriting career. He started his journey by entering local talent competitions, which led to the release of his debut single “Every Single Kiss” in 2017, followed by an extended play a year later.
Cooper continued to release music, eventually signing with BBR Music Group’s Wheelhouse imprint by 2022, in partnership with Combustion Music. This collaboration marked a significant step in his career, broadening his reach. His debut album, “Boy from Anderson County to the Moon,” was released on August 19, 2022, receiving critical acclaim. The album featured the single “Excuses,” which he co-wrote with Brett Tyler and Jordan Walker, and it reached number 35 on the US Country Airplay chart. His career progression includes performing at the Grand Ole Opry, a significant milestone within four years of entering the music industry.
Cooper’s music has garnered millions of streams and he has performed sold-out shows across the country. He has built a dedicated fanbase through his ability to translate his and his friends’ experiences into relatable songs. His latest releases, such as the single “Kill Me” in 2023 and “Mama” in 2024, aim to define a new phase in his musical output, characterized by powerful vocals and instrumentation. He continues to reside in East Texas with his wife, Jillian, and their three children.
