Growing up in public can’t be easy, but it’s something that multitalented singer-songwriter, dancer, actor, and performer Ky Baldwin appears to be taking in his well-choreographed stride. Born in Sydney, Australia, he became an award-winning child celebrity in his homeland before relocating across the Pacific to Los Angeles where he currently works with the world-famous likes of Disney and DreamWorks. He has released a string of well-received, heartfelt singles, including the frank “Depression is a Monster”, the touching “Dear Mom”, and the well-crafted likes of “Wonderful Tonight” (self-penned and not to be confused with the Eric Clapton ballad).
Baldwin’s showbusiness career began in 2009 when he was just seven years old and won roles in productions such as Madame Butterfly at the world-renowned Sydney Opera House. Two years later, he appeared on Australia’s Got Talent, performing a tap-dancing routine that took him through to the semi-finals, making him the youngest competitor to reach that stage. He then began appearing in television shows and voicing Little Nutbrown Hare in an animated adaptation of the classic children’s book Guess How Much I Love You. In 2016, he portrayed the young version of Australian music legend Peter Allen in a biopic called Not the Boy Next Door and won both a Logie Award and AACTA Award for the role.
Baldwin released his first original music in 2014, and it is something that he has become increasingly passionate about as the years have passed and his stature has grown. With his songs being streamed hundreds of thousands of times and with his reputation well established, it’s just a matter of time before his musical spark truly ignites a mass audience.
