Laetitia Casta is an international model and actress from France famous for portraying Brigitte Bardot in Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life. She has also starred in Face, The Blue Bicycle and played the part of Ondine at theatre Antoine in Paris. She has modelled for Ralph Lauren, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier and has graced over 100 magazine covers including Elle, Glamour, Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan and Vogue. Casta was also a spokesperson for cosmetics giant L’Oréal and is well recognised as the face of several fragrances, including Ralph Lauren’s Notorious, Cacharel’s Promise, Givenchy’s Forbidden flower, Bulgari’s BLV II and Chanel’s Allure.
Born in Pont-Audemer, she was spotted by photographer Frederic Cresseaux when she was 15 and launched her modelling career, rising to fame as a GUESS? Girl in the early 90s. She became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 1998 and regularly appeared on the covers of magazines around the world. After enjoying a hugely successful international modelling career Casta transitioned into acting, winning her first role in Asterix & Obelix Take On Caesar playing Falbala opposite Gérard Depardieu. Further movie roles soon followed, including Les Ames Fortes directed by Raul Ruiz, and Gainsbourg. Her portrayal of Brigitte Bardot earned her critical acclaim and a César Award nomination. In 2012 she served at the 69th Venice International Film Festival as a jury member.
