The fabulous sportswoman Laëtitia Roux is a ski mountaineer, who is a 17x World Champion, a 9x European Champion, a 27x Champion of France, and has claimed an amazing 64 victories in the World Cup. She is also the founder of Project Be the Change, which aims to promote local, natural, human and cultural wealth in the Hautes-Alpes.
Born and raised in the Alps in southeastern France, Roux took up skiing at a young age, and by the time she was nine-years-old she was participating in ski mountaineering. At the age of 20, in 2005, she joined the PACA section of the Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l’Escalade, and by the end of the year competed in the Alpi-Champsaur race. She became a member of the Team Ecrins Hautes-Alpes and the international Dynafit team, and since 2007 has been a member of the French national selection.
For her native France, Roux has won an incredible 17 Gold medals at the World Championships, as well as nine Golds in the European Championships, and has been a Champion of France a staggering 27 times.
