Laudya Cynthia Bella

Laudya Cynthia Bella is a renowned Indonesian singer and actress, celebrated for her contributions to the entertainment industry. Of mixed Sundanese, Javanese, and Minangkabau descent, Bella’s diverse heritage adds to her rich cultural identity. She married Malaysian media strategist Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin on September 8, 2017, in Kuala Lumpur. Engku Emran was previously married to Malaysian actress Erra Fazira. Bella and Emran divorced in June 2020.

Bella’s journey into the limelight began as a model. She gained early recognition as a finalist in Kawanku magazine’s competition in 2002. Her acting career took off with her role as Biyan in the 2004 film “Virgin,” earning her a nomination for Best Leading Actress at the 2005 Indonesian Film Festival and winning Best Female Leading Role at the 2005 Festival Film Bandung.

In 2006, Bella joined the vocal group BBB (Bukan Bintang Biasa), created by Melly Goeslaw, alongside Raffi Ahmad, Chelsea Olivia Wijaya, Dimas Beck, and Ayushita. The group starred in a drama-themed film directed by Lasja Fauzia, also titled “Bukan Bintang Biasa.” That same year, she had a cameo in “Berbagi Suami” and played Risa Apriliyanti in the horror movie “Lentera Merah.”

Bella’s television career flourished with her role in the soap opera “Jurangan Jengkol,” earning her the Famous Actress trophy at the 2006 SCTV Awards. She continued to appear in numerous soap operas and advertisements. In 2011, she starred in “Di Bawah Lindungan Ka’bah,” a film released during Lebaran, for which she won Best Leading Actress at the 2012 e-Guardians Awards and received a nomination for Best Female Leading Role at the 2012 Festival Film Bandung.

Her versatility shone in the 2013 thriller-horror film “Belenggu,” winning Favorite Actress at the 2013 Indonesian Movie Awards and earning nominations for Best Leading Actress at the 2013 Indonesian Film Festival and Best Actress at the 2013 Indonesian Movie Awards. In 2014, Bella starred in “Haji Backpacker,” a drama shot in nine countries, earning a nomination for Most Riveting Role at the 2014 Maya Awards.
