Lesley-Ann Brandt is a South African actress who first found acting fame in New Zealand before crossing the Pacific to make it in America. She is currently perhaps best known for playing Mazikeen and Lillith in all six seasons of the DC Comics-based show Lucifer between 2016 and 2021. However, she has also played other significant roles, including Naevia in the Spartacus series Blood and Sand and Gods in the Arena and Naomi Cox in the third season of Single Ladies. She also guest-starred in an episode of Gotham and had a recurring role in TNT’s fantasy series, The Librarian.
Brandt was born in Cape Town in December 1981. When she was in her late teens, her family relocated to New Zealand, and she went with them, working various day jobs and doing some modelling, which led to her being cast in television commercials. She began taking acting seriously, studying it and then being cast as one of the main characters in a sitcom called Diplomatic Immunity, which ran for one series in 2009.
After this, Brandt went to America, quickly being cast in the first of the Spartacus series, which began airing in January 2010. She further built her reputation with many one-off roles in shows such as CSI: NY, and in 2014, she landed recurring roles in The Librarian and Single Ladies. In 2016, she got an even bigger breakthrough when she was cast in Lucifer, a series that ran for six seasons and helped to firmly establish Brandt as a talented and diverse actress.
