Serial record breaker Liam Livingstone is an English cricketer who has represented both Lancashire and England. Livingstone is a right-handed opening batsman who can also bowl right-arm leg and off spin. In May 2015, he made his Twenty20 debut for Lancashire against Leicestershire. In the ECB’s first The Hundred competition, he was named Most Valuable Player.
Livingstone made headlines in April 2015 after reaching 350 off 138 balls for his local team Nantwich, which was reported to be one of the best individual scores in one-day cricket history. In the opening game of the 2016 season, Livingstone made his first-class debut for Lancashire. He was named club captain for the 2018 season. In June 2017, Livingstone made his T20I debut for England against South Africa. He was called up to the England Test Squad for the two-match series against New Zealand in January 2018.
Livingstone got his first century in a T20I match against Pakistan in July 2021, scoring 103 runs to become only England’s third man to record a T20I century. He also set records for the quickest fifty and century by an England batsman in T20Is, coming in at 17 and 42 balls, respectively. In the second T20I against Pakistan, he also hit a 122-yard six. Livingstone was picked to England’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021. He extended his contract with Lancashire in December of the same year, committing to the team until at least 2024. Livingston was purchased by the Punjab Kings in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League season, and by the Birmingham Phoenix for the 2022 season of The Hundred.
