Libe Alexandra Barer was born on December 19, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Mexican-born and Jewish. She attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she was recognized with an LACHSA Moondance Film Festival Award for her screenplay, “On Top Of The World.” Barer’s early acting experiences included roles on Nickelodeon shows such as “Unfabulous” and “iCarly,” which helped establish her presence in the entertainment industry.
Barer gained wider recognition for her role as Carly Bowman in the Amazon Prime original series “Sneaky Pete,” appearing in 30 episodes from 2015 to 2019. Her career also includes recurring roles in television series such as “Parenthood,” where she played Kiara for five episodes (2014-2015), and “Those Who Can’t,” portraying Beth for six episodes (2016-2019). Her film credits include psychological horror films “I See You” (2019) and “Slapface” (2021).
In addition to live-action performances, Barer has established herself as a voice actress. She voiced Violet Sabrewing in “DuckTales” (2019-2021) for eight episodes and Casey Calderón in “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” (2023-2025) across 36 episodes. She also voiced Seven in the English dub of “Beastars” in 2024. Beyond her acting career, Barer has also ventured into writing and directing, demonstrating her comprehensive involvement in film production. She directed the short film “Revelation” (2024) and wrote and directed “With the Fishes” (2022).
