Rising star and child actress Lilly Aspell rose to fame playing the Young Diana in the smash hit DC movie Wonder Woman in 2017. She is also famous for starring as Megan in science fiction movie Extinction and will appear as a Young Diana once again in Wonder Woman 84 released in 2020.
Born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, Aspell is the child of two professional jockeys and is a keen equestrian with an already athletic lifestyle which helped her prepare for her role as the young superhero. Aspell’s casting in Wonder Woman happened by chance when she was spotted on London’s Oxford Street and invited to audition as the younger versions of Gal Gadot’s Diana. Aspell didn’t even know which part she was auditioning for at the time, but was asked to use a bow and arrow and fitted into the role of
Young Diana perfectly from the beginning. With her background in horse riding, scenes including the one where she rides her grey stallion Vendeval through yellow fields came naturally, and Aspell made a real impact in the role which led to another movie part in 2018 American science fiction action film Extinction.
In 2020 Aspell will reprise her role as Young Diana in the highly anticipated sequel Wonder Woman 84, and the young star is certain to have a bright future ahead of her whatever she does next.
