Maxwell Holt is a talented American professional volleyball player who is a regular fixture in the United States national team. He was a bronze medallist at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and won gold with his nation at 2014 FIVB Volleyball World League and 2015 FIVB Men’s World Cup. He currently plays in the Middle Blocker position for the prestigious Chinese club Beijing BAIC Motor.
Holt displayed a huge amount of athletic promise at an early age, and was a member of the United States Junior Men’s National Team from 2005 to 2007. He made his international debut in 2009 during the Pan American Cup, and in 2013 he won a gold medal at the NORCECA Championship. Over a long and successful career in volleyball, Holt has played for a broad range of teams in Italy and Russia. He won the 2012/2013 CEV Challenge Cup with Italian side Copra Elior Piacenza, and the 2014/2015 CEV Cup with Russian side Dynamo Moscow. More recently, he secured two national championships in the form of the 2016/2017 and 2018/2019 Italian SuperCups with Azimut Modena.
Holt never fails to make an impression on the court, and throughout his storied career he has been given an array of individual awards, including Best Middle Blocker at the 2015 FIVB World League, 2019 FIVB Nations League and 2019 FIVB World Cup.
