Popular Meaghan Rath is a Canadian actress known to many for her roles in shows such as Hawaii Five-O and Being Human. She has also had recurring roles in the likes of Rogue, Banshee, and New Girl, with her part as May in the latter winning her a Golden Maple Newcomer of the Year Award. In 2022, she began starring as mother-of-three Astrid in a new Canadian sitcom called Children Ruin Everything, which was immediately renewed for a second season. She has a large presence on social media, with over 300,000 fans across Instagram and Twitter.
Rath was born in Montreal in June 1986 and is of Goan Indian, English, and Austrian-Jewish heritage. Her younger brother Jesse is also an actor, but it was Meaghan who started her acting career first, making her screen debut in 2001. Her first significant role came three years later when she was cast as Adena Stiles, one of the leading characters in 15/Love, a Canadian children’s drama set at a tennis club. Her first major adult role came when she co-starred as a ghost called Sally Malik in the North American version of Being Human in 2011. Her acting in the show would win her an ACTRA Montreal Award for Best Female Performance in 2015.
After another award-winning role with New Girl, Rath played Tani Ray in the final three seasons of CBS’ successful remake of Hawaii Five-O between 2017 and 2020. Now a mother in real life, she is also enjoying her starring sitcom role as a struggling mother in the well-received Children Ruin Everything.
