American actor Mehcad Brooks is best known for his roles in Desperate Housewives, Supergirl, Necessary Roughness and The Game.
Brooks was both a talented sportsman and actor throughout his time at high school. He chose to attend the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television, turning down offers of basketball scholarships from Ivy League schools to pursue acting. In 2005 he got his first big break when he was cast in Desperate Housewives, a role he played for over a year before landing parts in other films and television shows such as Glory Road, In The Valley of Elah and The Game. He also appeared in HBO fantasy horror series True Blood, as well as being cast in commercials and advertising campaigns including for State Farm Insurance and the Center for Reproductive Rights. Brooks continued to be highly sought after over the next few years, winning a leading role in sports series Necessary Roughness which he starred in for two years and guest appearing in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2015, Brooks joined the cast of Supergirl, staying with the show as a series regular until the show concluded in 2019.
This star of the small and big screen continues to be cast in both television and films, with recent roles including Nobody’s Fool, A Fall from Grace and Mortal Kombat. Brooks is now a seasoned actor and a household name, having been nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards and Saturn Awards throughout his career.
