Melissa Porter has established a career as a versatile television presenter, specializing in property and lifestyle programming. After graduating with a degree in Retail Marketing from Manchester Metropolitan University, Melissa Porter built a strong business foundation through roles at prominent companies such as Marks & Spencer and Kodak, and as a brand manager for Playtex. She also gained experience as a professional relocator for a Knightsbridge-based company. Porter’s television career began in 2002 with an appearance on Granada TV’s ‘Men and Motors.’ She quickly transitioned to the BBC, becoming a well-known presenter for several popular property and lifestyle shows, including ‘To Buy or Not to Buy’ on BBC One in 2003 and ‘Put Your Money Where Your House Is’ on BBC One in 2004.

Porter’s significant contributions to property programming continued, notably as a presenter for BBC Two’s ‘Escape to the Country,’ a role she held from 2007 to 2014 across eight episodes. Her other presenting credits include ‘Countryfile The Summer Diaries’ on BBC One in 2007, ‘The Property List’ in 2008, and ‘Live the Dream: As Seen on Screen’ in 2009. She also appeared as herself in ‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’ and as a guest panelist on ‘The Wright Stuff’ in 2008.
