Mitchell Schwartz

Man-mountain Mitchell Schwartz is a former professional Football offensive tackle, who played for the Cleveland Browns, and the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. He is a 4x All-Pro Offensive Tackle, and in 2019 he was named to the CBS Sports’ NFL All-Decade Team after helping the Chiefs win the Super Bowl LIV. He is also a massive foodie and a keen amateur chef, and authored the book Eat My Schwartz: Our Story of NFL Football, Food, Family, and Faith, with his fellow NFL pro-footballing brother, Geoff.

Born and raised in California, Schwartz started playing Football at High School. He went on to play college football at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was named second-team All-Pac-10 as a junior, and first-team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Academic as a senior. He turned professional when he was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 NFL draft, signing a four-year contract for $5.7 million. In 2016 he joined the Kansas City Chiefs, signing a five-year $33 million contract. He signed a one-year contract extension through the 2021 season for $11.255 million in 2019, and went on to help the Chiefs lift the Super Bowl LIV. After suffering a number of injuries, he was released in March 2021 and retired from the game.
