Molly Rushing is an actress, dancer and singer, best known for productions including Broadway’s Anastasia and the Paper Mill Playhouse’s Beauty and the Beast. An immensely charismatic and versatile artist, Rushing is especially talented at ballet and ballroom, and has received rave reviews for her stage performances.
Rushing trained in music, acting and ballet throughout her childhood, and later studied for a BM in musical theatre at Oklahoma City University, where she took parts in shows such as Sweeney Todd and Thoroughly Modern Millie. After making her New York City debut in Babes in Toyland, she landed her first job on Broadway playing Young Anastasia and understudying the role of Anya in the original Broadway production of Anastasia at the Broadhurst Theatre. Performing alongside the likes of Mary Beth Peil, John Bolton and Caroline O’Connor, she remained with the production for two years, during which time it was nominated for two Tony Awards, nine Drama Desk Awards, and twelve Outer Critics Circle Awards.
Beyond New York City, Rushing played the lead role of Belle in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Beauty and the Beast, and has appeared in several productions at MT Wichita, including The Little Mermaid, The Music Man, Xanadu, Sunset Boulevard and Finian’s Rainbow. Other regional productions have included Call Me Madam and Sweet Charity at the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Cinderella at the Gateway Plathouse, and White Christmas at the John W. Engeman Theater.
