Monette Moio is a multi-talented American actor, stunt double, improviser, writer, and singer. With such a vast wealth of talent to draw upon, it’s unsurprising that she has appeared in a wide range of films and TV shows. Her most recent credits include the likes of 13 Reasons Why and 9-1-1: Lonestar (as a stunt double) and the award-nominated mockumentary series The Real Bros of Simi Valley (playing Tessa). Moio has been nominated for an award herself; she was part of the stunt ensemble nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for their work on the 2019 film Ford v Ferrari. In 2021, she landed perhaps her biggest acting part to date, playing Ballista Grey in the action film, Overrun.
Moio is the daughter of Hollywood stuntman John Moio, and as well as training in stunts with him, Moio Jr also trained in improv with the world-famous Groundlings and Second City theatre companies and spent six years training in the Meisner technique at the Playhouse West Drama School. She began gaining regular work in the industry, both in front of and behind the camera, in 2014, and she won her first regular acting role in 2017 with The Real Bros of Simi Valley, a streaming series that satirises the Californian lifestyle as portrayed by so many reality shows.
To date, however, it’s stunt work that has proved Moio’s strongest calling card, and she can be seen acting as a body double in everything from films like Le Mans ’66 to long-running series like General Hospital.
