Perhaps best known to the public for her role as Bobbi Galka in the award-winning Canadian sitcom, Mr D, and as Nina in Saw 3D, Naomi Snieckus has been dubbed Canada’s Queen of Comedy. An erstwhile member of the all-conquering Second City comedy troupe, she formed not but two improv groups of her own: National Theatre of the World and Impromptu Splendor. It’s for her improvisational comedy skill that Snieckus won one of her two much-coveted Canadian Comedy Awards; National Theatre of the World has also won five Canadian Comedy Awards to date. Snieckus’ work on Mr D also earned her four Canadian Screen Award nominations.
With nearly 20 years’ worth of acting experience to her name, Snieckus has appeared in a raft of films, shorts, and series, including Carter, Little Mosque on the Prairie, Being Erica, and The Trailer Park Boys. She also wrote and co-prouced a web series, The Casting Room, a series that was originally intended to entertain fellow actors, but which became a hit with the general public.
As at home in front of an audience as in front of a camera, Snieckus is a highly-rated stand-up comedian and can bring her wit and improvisational skills to the world of professional and corporate events. She has acted as MC at a host of events, has led workshops, and delivered keynote speeches customised to the needs and spirit of the audience. As part of a duo with her husband, fellow comedian Matt Barum, she has entertained clients as diverse as Wrigleys, Movember, and The Ivey School.
