Noah Rubin is a professional tennis player from New York. He went pro in 2015 and has since won four ATP challenger titles. He’s also played at Wimbledon as a junior singles player and junior doubles player, winning both times.
Rubin was destined for success. At the age of seven he was already competing in tennis contests, and often winning. His highest ranking according to the International Tennis Federation was sixth in the world and first in America as a junior player. 2014 was one of the most prolific years in his career so far when he won the USA Tennis Association’s National Championships for under eighteen players, which earned him a place in the US Open.
Rubin is passionate about his sport, and he’s also dedicated to helping other youngsters get involved. He set up the Behind the Racquet project to show the stories of other tennis players, showing that they’re just normal people with dedication to something they love. It aims to take away the idea that tennis is for the few, not the masses, and get more people involved. The initiative has over thirty thousand followers on Instagram, but he’s otherwise not very active on social media, mostly focussing on his sport. He also runs a podcast with sportscaster, Mike Cation, where they discuss tennis and life as a professional player.
