27-year-old Oskars Kibermanis is a Latvian bobsledding champion having competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and in numerous other international events. Joining the national team in 2011, Kibermanis began participating International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation events under the guidance of the longstanding Coach Sandis Prusis. As a pilot, he made significant displays at the 2011 YOG European Qualification two-man events on the Innsbruck track sharing a 2nd place tie with the Austrian team.
At the 2012 Junior World Championships took home the two-man event bronze medal and the four-man event silver medal alongside Vairis Leiboms, Helvijs Lusis, and Raivis Zirups. Participating in his fourth Europe Cup in 2014, Kibermanis partnered with Leiboms to win the two-man event on the Innsbruck track trailing behind the German team by 0.13 seconds at a top speed of 88.00 km per hour. It was during this time that he joined the Latvian team in competing in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
By 2016, he returned to the Europe Cup winning several medals on the Sigulda, Königssee, and Altenberg tracks. With his partner Matīss Miknis, Kibermanis competed in the 2017 European Championship taking home the two-man event bronze medal behind Germany later returning twice more to take home a silver and gold medal. He later went on to win a bronze and silver medal at the recent World Championships in 2019 and 2020.
