Peter Helliar was born in 1975, in the Australian city of Melbourne, and he is known for many of his talents, including being a TV and Radio presenter, a writer, producer, director, comedian and actor. He is married to Bridget Hellier with whom he has three sons. His TV career would start with him being a stand up regular on variety show ‘Under Melbourne Tonight’. He would then go on to be a regular on ‘The Loft Live’.
Helliar would become of major national interest in 1999 when he assisted Rove McManus on Rove. Over the next two decades shows that he would star in included ‘skitHOUSE’, ‘The Bounce’, ‘The Morning Show’, ‘It’s a Date’ and ‘How to stay married’. In 2002 he would also make his first appearance on radio network Austereo where he would appear alongside his Rove colleague Rove McManus. Other radio shows that he would go on to appear on include ‘2Day FN’, ‘Fox FM’ and ‘Nova 96.9’.
Helliar also appeared in two films, the first of which is a rom-com which Hellier himself wrote called ‘I Love you too’. The other he starred in was an Australian comedy film called ‘Scumbus’. They currently live in Melbourne, Victoria in the quiet suburb of Ivanhoe. Helliar along with his wife and sons in 2013 decided to backpack around Eastern Europe describing the experience as “tough work but hugely rewarding for everyone”.
