Talented Porscha Coleman is a true showbiz all-rounder. She is an actress, singer, dancer, voiceover artist, and TV host who has appeared in films, TV series, music videos, and commercial campaigns for leading brands. She is perhaps currently best known for playing Chelsea Dixon in the Jamie Foxx-led sitcom Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me! and Gloria in the Amazon Prime TV series Paradise City. That these are two of the most recent roles in her 20-year-plus-long career signal that she’s got staying power and that her career is still evolving.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Coleman has been appearing on television since childhood. Her first roles came during the late 1990s with guest roles in the likes of NYPD Blue and The Ellen Show. As the 2000s progressed, she began to win roles in films, including Dr Doolittle 3, Janky Promoters, and Pixel Perfect. She also appeared in music videos for the likes of T.I. (‘Got Your Back’), Nickelback (‘She Keeps Me Up’), Gym Class Heroes (‘Cupid’s Chokehold’), and DJ Felli (‘Get Buck in Here’). She also established herself through appearing in ad campaigns for brands such as Toyota, Panda Express, Smart Car, and Boost Mobile.
Coleman’s career as a dancer goes back to the early 2000s when she appeared as a principal dancer at awards ceremonies such as the BET Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, and American Music Awards and on the likes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! In 2009, she became a co-host on The Claudia Jordan Show and Friends and has since hosted many other programmes, including Hollywood Today and Maury.
