Raquel Nuno is a planetary scientist and science educator best known for her popular Instagram account, @thespacegeologist, which currently has over 37,500 followers. She has also had the distinction of being interviewed by astronomy giant Neil deGrasse Tyson for his legendary StarTalk series. She has also appeared on other highly-rated podcasts such as Ologies and Talk Nerdy.
Nono has a PhD from UCLA, which focused on researching and understanding planetary surface processes. She also has a long list of academic publications to her name. She also has a great many academic awards to her name — the 2018 NASA Space Grant Fellowship being just one example — and she is currently part of NASA’s Diviner team; the Diviner being an instrument sent to keep the first-ever detailed day-and-night record of the moon’s surface temperature.
