Legendary guitarist and songwriter Rick Nielsen is part of America’s rock n’ roll legacy. For over four decades Nielsen has been part of the classic rock band Cheap Trick and has toured the world over playing to thousands of fans. Recognised for his custom-made Hamer five-neck guitar and distinct Huntz Hall inspired style, Nielsen is a force to be reckoned with in the industry. The Illinois native is behind the chart-topping singles “The Flame” and “I Want You to Want Me,” and has worked with the likes of John Lennon and the Foo Fighters. With multiple highly acclaimed studio albums under his belt, as well as countless TV and film appearances and collaborations, Nielsen continues to push the boundaries of his craft.
Celebrated with the greats, Nielsen and his band were inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn. After playing over 5,000 shows across hundreds of countries, headlining “Live at Budokan” and shredding on over 2,000 guitars throughout his career, Nielsen is undeniably one of a kind. The likes of Dave Grohl, Slash, Billie Joe Armstrong and the late Kurt Cobain all cite Nielsen’s quartet as part of their influence. Balancing brilliant catchy tunes with a heavy sound is an art in itself. With a career built on defying expectations, Nielsen can still be found rocking out on the stage.
