Rocco DiSpirito is a renowned chef and TV personality, best known for his show, The Restaurant and Rocco’s Dinner Party. He dabbles in many cuisines, but he is famed for his fusion of Italian and American foods. In addition, DiSpirito has released a number of cookbooks and made guest appearances on many cooking shows.
DiSpirito began cooking as a young man, and he opted to attend the Culinary Institute of America to learn the art of cooking. He also attended Boston University to get a business degree. He then opened his very first restaurant which was met with rave reviews, creating a buzz around his name. He was then asked to join the cast of The Restaurant, which centred around his restaurant. From there, he appeared in many other TV shows such as Top Chef as a guest judge, and he then began to rise in fame.
When he’s not cooking, DiSpirito explores many other ventures. He appeared on a series of Dancing With the Stars, and he finished ninth overall. He has also pushed for Americans to eat healthier, appearing on The Biggest Loser: Families to try and encourage people to prepare healthy recipes. He’s also appeared in fictional shows as himself including an episode of Castle.
DiSpirito has proved that his fame isn’t undeserved with his many awards. In 1999, he was given the title of America’s Best New Chef by Food and Wine Magazine, and he received many more awards between then and 2004. With over a hundred and sixty thousand Instagram followers, it’s also clear that DiSpirito is well loved by budding chefs everywhere.
