Ross Tran is an incredibly popular American artist perhaps better known by his online brand name, Ross Draws. He has more than 3 million followers and subscribers across his social media accounts, including 1.4 million apiece on YouTube and Instagram. His YouTube content, which has been viewed more than 80 million times and counting, is packed with digital illustration tutorials and vlog content. He also live-streams his drawing on Twitch, runs a digital art “bootcamp”, and offers tutorials through his Patreon account. He published his first cinematic art book, NIMA, in 2020 and is currently working to turn it into an animated series.
Tran hails from San Jose but moved to California aged 19 to pursue his dream of becoming an artist, studying for a degree in Industrial Design. He worked as a character designer on the hit 2014 sci-fi film Earth to Echo, but then took a break from art to pursue an acting career. Whilst he was doing this, however, the art content he was posting on his YouTube channel began to take off, and before he knew it, he was a full-time content creator. Almost 10 years later, he is still going strong, and the audience for his relatable content is still growing.
