Sarah Robertson-Barnes is an Ontario-based blogger, content creator, and educator best known for her popular blog, Sustainable in the Suburbs, which has grown from a record of her mission to live a more environmentally conscious life into a zero-waste-living education company. She has also has tens of thousands of followers across social media, most notably on Instagram.
Living in the Greater Toronto suburb of Aurora. Robertson-Barnes has worked as a teacher, a medical writer, and also spent time as a digital editor and social media manager for EcoParent magazine. She lives an intentional, conscious life with her husband and two young sons. She is a veggie-turned-vegan (for health reasons. She does not believe that you must be a vegan to be an environmentalist) and believes that her efforts towards a sustainable lifestyle are as much for her children’s future as anything else. Among her recent projects are working as a team leader for Project Neutral’s Talk Climate to Me campaign.
Robertson-Barnes’ content is exactly the kind of relatable, real-world stuff that can affect real change. Her home-spun advice on recycling and reusing involve making small, sustainable changes to a household, but could make all the difference when it comes to our planet’s future.
