Simon Le Bon is a famed British musician, best known for being the frontman for the legendary band, Duran Duran. The award-winning singer has also had a solo career, but his heart was always in the band.
Duran Duran formed before Le Bon knew his bandmates. However, after their friend, Stephen Duffy, quit the band, it was essential for them to find a new front man. Le Bon was all too happy to fill the space when his ex-girlfriend introduced him to the band. The band found they loved Le Bon’s wacky style and the poems he’d written. They later formed those poems into some of their greatest hits.
The band quickly rose to the top, and Le Bon went on tour with the band for several years. They were well known worldwide, and they were heavily covered by the media. Over the space of a few years, they released four albums before taking a break. It was in that time that Le Bon explored his solo career, while also performing with the band on small projects such as Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid.
Le Bon’s iconic music has been featured on many soundtracks over the years, with his unique sound earning interest from Hollywood. His music appeared in the mind-bending movie, Donnie Darko, bac in 2001, and he also had his music featured in Layer Cake, Tequila Sunrise and The Saint. In more recent years, he’s written music that appeared in Wonder Woman 1984, American Horror Story and Riverdale.
