Steve and Maggie (mostly Steve as maggie is a bird who can’t talk) are children’s educational entertainers and teachers. It came to be when Steve R. Watts taught children English in Tokyo without having any knowledge of the local language. All it took was to create the right context and involve body language, particularly facial expressions and gestures because non-verbal communication is the most important in the world of a child. The body language he used in teaching English meant that his young pupils had no problem understanding him.
