Steven Michael Quezada, born on February 15, 1963, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, embarked on his journey in the arts by studying Theatre at Eastern New Mexico University. Although he did not complete a degree, his early exposure to theater laid the groundwork for a multifaceted career. Quezada quickly established himself in New Mexico’s film industry and gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of DEA Agent Steven Gomez in the Emmy-winning AMC series, Breaking Bad, from 2008 to 2013. His acting career also includes appearances in television series such as Wildfire, Crash, and In Plain Sight. Further film credits include Light From The Darkroom, La Vida Robot, Love Ranch alongside Joe Pesci and Helen Mirren, Beerfest, and First Snow with Guy Pierce. In 2013, he received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for Breaking Bad.
Beyond his acting achievements, Quezada is a notable comedian, having toured comedy clubs across the United States since 1987. He is a five-time recipient of the New Mexico Hispanic Entertainers Association Comedian of the Year Award and has been featured on HBO, Showtime, and the Latino comedy feature Que Locos. He has also opened for comedians like Rob Schneider and Anjelah Johnson, and performed stand-up on The Arsenio Hall Show. In 2010, Quezada expanded into hosting, launching his own late-night talk show, The After After Party with Steven Michael Quezada, where he also served as an executive producer and writer, providing training opportunities for aspiring filmmakers.

In 2013, he was elected to the Albuquerque Public Schools board, and in 2016, he won a seat on the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners, where he served through 2025. During his tenure, he held positions as Chair (2018-2019) and Vice Chair (2017-2018, 2021-2022) of the board, contributing to local policy and community initiatives. He has been actively involved with organizations such as Youth Development Incorporated (YDI) and the Boys and Girls Club of New Mexico, teaching acting classes and supporting gang intervention programs.
