ABC News anchor and correspondent T.J.Holmes has enjoyed an impressive journalism career spanning more than two decades. Holmes joined ABC at the end of 2014 and began reporting for all of the network’s platforms and broadcasts. He is well known for his daily contributions to the most-watched network morning news programme Good Morning America, where his unique storytelling, experiences and personality are an excellent fit to the show’s blend of in-depth reporting, breaking news and family fun. His career as a journalist has also seen him report on many of the world’s major news events, from presidential elections to the Olympics in Rio and Athens.
Born in West Memphis, Arkansas, Holmes kicked off his career as a weekend anchor, producer and assignment reporter at KSNF before joining CBS affiliate KTHV back in his home state as a general assignment reporter and later as a weekend anchor. In 2003 he became evening news anchor at KNTV in the San Francisco Bay Area and travelled to Athens to cover the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Holmes rose to national prominence during his 5 years as the anchor of CNN Saturday/Sunday Morning, where he anchored many significant news stories including the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, Saddam Hussein’s execution in 2006 and the 10th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks from Ground Zero. After stints at CNN’s Headline News and MSNBC, Holmes joined ABC, where he remains one of the network’s most popular faces.
