Tanawat Wattanaputi

Tanawat Wattanaputi, born on December 27, 1982, in Bangkok, Thailand, is an actor and model professionally known as Pope. His career began after winning the “Looking for Ye Htut Project” contest in 2006, intended for the TV series “Phu Chana Sip Thit,” which was later canceled. He then secured his first movie role as Khun Ram Decha in “The Legend of King Naresuan The Great, Part III, Naval Battle.” In 2009, he played his first full-length leading role as Rawee in “October Sonata.” This role captured the attention of Channel 3, leading to a three-year contract. His initial role at Channel 3 was Nut in “Dok Som See Thong” in 2011, which marked his establishment as a full-time actor on the network. That same year, he also appeared as Singha in “Tawan Dueat” and Dr. Wattana in “Game Rai Game Rak.”

A significant turning point in Wattanaputi’s career occurred in 2013 with his portrayal of Mom Rajawongse Pawornrut Jutathep in the drama series “Khun Chai Pawornruj.” This role achieved substantial success and earned him the Golden Television Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. Following this, he continued to take on leading roles, such as Pisut in “Samee Tee Tra” (2014) alongside Laila Boonyasak, and reunited with Nittha Jirayungyurn in “Ruk Ok Rit” (2014) and “Sapai Jao” (2015). His consistent work and notable performances solidified his reputation within the Thai entertainment industry. He has maintained his presence as a leading actor under Channel 3 HD, demonstrating sustained success in his acting career.

His career progression also includes roles in “Love Destiny” (2018), where he played Muen Suntorndewa / Por Date, and its sequel “Love Destiny 2” (2023), playing Rit / Muen / Rueang. He also starred in the film “Love Destiny: The Movie” (2022) as Phop. Throughout his career, Wattanaputi has been recognized for his ability to embody diverse characters, contributing to his enduring popularity and status as a respected figure in Thai television and film.
