Tariq Nasheed’s literary career launched with the 1999 publication of his debut book, ‘The Art of Mackin’,’ which sold over 250,000 copies and established a foundational text for the modern ‘seduction’ industry. Drawing from his G.I.C.2 (game, intelligence, and common sense, squared) techniques initially taught in the Los Angeles underground scene, Nasheed rapidly expanded his literary output. He followed this success with ‘Play Or Be Played’ (2004), ‘The Mack Within’ (2005), ‘The Art of Gold Digging’ (2008), and ‘The Elite Way’ (2009). Simultaneously, Nasheed made appearances on prominent national television shows, including ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ and ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brian.’ Nasheed subsequently transitioned his focus to documentary filmmaking, dedicating his work to chronicling Black history and challenging established narratives.
His most recent directorial project, ‘Microphone Check,’ was released in 2024, adding another compelling title to his extensive filmography. Through his prolific work as an author, filmmaker, and cultural commentator, Nasheed continues to produce impactful content that reshapes historical narratives and engages global audiences.
