Best known for her dynamic scoring capabilities, Tegan Phillip is a globally famous Australian netballer. She has found considerable success with both the Melbourne Vixens in Super Netball and the Australian Diamonds in international play.
A native of Geelong, Victoria, Philip showed interest in netball from a young age and made her debut for the Melbourne Vixens in 2010. She was memorably named the team’s Rookie of the Year and quickly made an impact in league play. The Vixens won the Premiership in 2014, and Philip was named Grand Final MVP for her stellar performance. She made her international debut with the Australian Diamonds the same year, taking gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In 2015, Philip was named the Vixens’ MVP joint-runner-up. Her positions include GA and GS and she is particularly known for her long-range scoring prowess.
Philip recovered from an ACL injury in 2016 and went on to have some of the best years of her career. In 2017, she was named the Vixens’ co-vice-captain and was awarded the Suncorp Super Netball GA of the Year. The team was recognized with the league’s inaugural Team of the Year award, and she also participated in the Fast5 World Series in 2017. She returned to the Diamonds for the 2018-19 season and continues to be a dominant force in Super Netball. Tegan Philip is an icon of her sport and has established herself as one of Australia’s finest athletes.
