The Future Kingz is a dance group that originated in suburban Chicago. The members gained recognition for their street dance style and contributions to the hip-hop community. Early in their career, they focused on developing their routines and establishing a presence in the dance world. Their dedication led to performances with notable artists, including Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa. This period of their career was marked by consistent practice and public showcases that built their reputation within the industry.
A significant milestone for The Future Kingz occurred in 2015 when they secured second place at the World of Dance Chicago competition. This achievement further established their standing as a competitive dance troupe. Their work extended to digital platforms, evidenced by a popular YouTube channel featuring their performances, such as a routine set to “How Bow Dah?” which garnered over two million views. This digital presence allowed them to reach a broader audience and demonstrate their creative work.
In 2018, The Future Kingz auditioned for Season 13 of *America’s Got Talent*. Their audition featured a hip-hop routine to music by G-Eazy and Kendrick Lamar, earning unanimous approval from the judges (Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell) and advancing them to the Judge Cuts round. During Judge Cuts, they delivered a medley performance to tracks by Bruno Mars, Bell Biv DeVoe, and MC Hammer, receiving standing ovations and progressing to the Quarterfinals. Their Quarterfinals performance, set to Kanye West’s “Power,” led to their elimination in the Judges’ Choice, concluding their run on the show. Beyond competitions, The Future Kingz have engaged in brand collaborations, including a streetwear collection with LRG (Lifted Research Group) in 2020, celebrating their influence in entertainment and dance.
