Hailing from Liverpool in the United Kingdom, Thelma Madine is the multi-talented dress designer, writer, business woman and British TV personality, perhaps best known for her appearances on shows like Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and Thelma’s gypsy girls.
In these hit TV shows from Channel 4, Thelma is the resident designer and dressmaker, favoured by travellers all around the United Kingdom. Nico – her wedding dress shop based in Liverpool – has been inundated with business calls ever since she first appeared on Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. As if Thelma’s thriving dress-making business did not keep her busy enough, she has also decided to branch out into the production of ceramic figurines, which are inspired by her wedding gown designs, communion dresses and page girl outfits. In collaboration with The English Ladies Company, Thelma’s unique ceramic collections have been sent out all around the world to grateful customers and fans alike.
Thelma has released two books – the first, her self-penned autobiography Tales Of The Gypsy Dressmaker and the second, Gypsy Wedding Dreams. Both works were published by one of the Uk’s largest publication houses, Harper Collins.
In more recent memory, Thelma Madine appeared in her own brand new TV series called Thelma’s Big Irish Communions. The success of the show meant that 6 series were commissioned and will be filmed across the UK and Irelan
