Superbowl winner Tim Jennings is a hugely experienced former NFL cornerback. He was picked in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts after playing college football at Georgia. Jennings also spent time with the Chicago Bears and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2006, he won Super Bowl XLI with the Colts against the Bears while still a rookie. Jennings had four interceptions and appeared in 53 games between 2006 and 2009.
In 2010, Jennings signed with the Chicago Bears and earned a starting spot in coach Lovie Smith’s defence. He was a member of the 2010 NFC Championship Game team and came up just short of advancing to Super Bowl XLV. After a disappointing performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15 of the 2011 season, Jennings was benched by the Bears coaching staff. However, he bounced back to become one of the top cover corners in the NFL. Jennings and the hard-hitting Charles Tillman created one of the strongest cornerback tandems in the NFL during his time in Chicago. In 2012, Jennings was named to his first Pro Bowl and concluded the season with nine interceptions, the most in the league, making him the first Bears player to do so since Mark Carrier in 1990. Jennings was later chosen to the 2012 All-Pro Team’s second team, his first.
In 2013, Jennings had a team-high four interceptions, which was second most in his career behind the nine he had in 2012. Jennings has 13 interceptions in the last two seasons, second most in the NFL behind Richard Sherman’s 16. He was added to the Pro Bowl roster on January 20, 2014, to replace Richard Sherman, becoming the second Bears cornerback to make two straight Pro Bowls, following Tillman in 2011–12.
