Tim Ross

Tim Ross has transitioned from a renowned comedian and radio personality to an acclaimed advocate for architecture and design. After forming the acclaimed comedy duo Merrick and Rosso in 1996, Tim Ross went on to establish a versatile career as a comedian, radio personality, and ultimately, a celebrated advocate for architecture and design. The duo’s collaboration began with a one-off comedy show, swiftly expanding into extensive stand-up tours and comedy festival appearances across Australia, where they quickly earned recognition for their sharp wit and engaging performances. During this period, Ross co-authored two successful books with Merrick Watts: ‘Merrick and Rosso, The Book’ and ‘Merrick and Rosso, The Book Volume 2’.

Building on this, he presented ‘Designing A Legacy’ on ABC in 2021. His dedicated advocacy for architectural preservation and appreciation was formally recognized with the prestigious National President’s Prize from the Australian Institute of Architects in 2019. Further solidifying his expertise, Ross has authored several influential books on architecture and design. These include ‘The Rumpus Room’ (2017), ‘MOTEL – Images of Australia on Holidays’ (2019), produced in collaboration with the National Archives of Australia, and ‘Scorcher’ (2021), a collection of short stories centered on the Australian summer.
